Malacca Trip

This post is like long over due. Finally I have the time to blog once again.

Went to Malacca with Le Twn, Laurenzo and Ethan! :)

Short weekend getaway. Kinda frisky coz we almost didn't make it back to sg in time.

We ate so much this trip, it was not even funny...

Welcome to Malacca!!

Early in the morning and we are all hungry. Decided to go for dim sum beside our resting place.

Ethan pretending to look away coz of the couple in the picture...

PAUs.

Dim sum!! :)

As we continue on our food journey, we arrived at this little shop selling Gasing.

The owner of the shop, this friendly old man.
He offered to show us how it's done and even teach us if we want.

The guys were interested after a short performance by the owner.

They decided to try! HAHAHA

The weather was murderously hot. Me and Le twin standing there filming them trying were perspiring like crazy. Something in the shop caught us girls' eyes.

I bought 2 of that fan for both of us. One each. It is really handy. It was our shade when we walked in the sun, it was our "aircon" when it was too hot. I grew attached to that fan. Unfortunately, Le twin lost hers on the way back to Singapore.

As we continue our journey to the very famous place that sells chicken rice balls. The guys wanted some caffeine to kick start their day proper.

This is Ethan's Cauppucino.

Me and Le twin both ordered Chai tea. We always drink our tea without milk. At first we decided to do it our way. AND MY WAS IT HORRIBLE. We asked for some milk and it was much much better.

Moral of Story: Drink it as it was meant to be.

We walked a little more and saw this!

Seems like a street wire art. THAT SAYS MAMEE!

It is a mamee shop. The museum has yet to open.

We bought our instant noodle cup to decorate!

Decorating the cup, drawing on it.

Time to seal the deal!
Station 1: Place cup into slot.

We chose our 4 condiments.

Station 3: Lidding

Station 4: Wrapping

Station 5: Shrink Wrapping.

My Mamee cup noodles is ready!!

Us with our cup noodle!!

Personalise your cup noodles!

We walked a little while more and we found out chicken rice balls!

I would never have been able to take a pic like this without my beloved fan.

Yes this is the coffeeshop that sells chicken rice balls!

LOOK AT THE QUEUE! :O

Dying couple in the heat.

Decided to take some couple selfie while waiting for the food to arrive.

#CoupleSelfie1

#CoupleSelfie2

Here was what we ordered. You can only order once. So you have to make sure it is enough. If you want more, I am afraid, you will have to join the queue again. :X

Filled our tummies, so it's time for a little sightseeing!

Red Square

Christ Church

Donate a small fee and take a photo of the interior of the church.

Climbing up St. Paul's Hill.

Finally! We arrived at the top!

The view is amazing.

Came down and saw this canon.

Ethan thinks he is some commander of the past in a war. HEHEHE

The weather was killing us. No joke.

Thank God! We found a MALL!!!!!

We hurried to the mall. It was a sanctuary with AIR CON.

Stayed inside for a while. Shopped a bit and think of what else to do inside.

We played at the arcade for a bit.

Before heading back out into the desert-like outdoors.

Next food destination: Portuguese Square.

As Laurenzo is of Portuguese descent, we paid a visit to that place.

Entrance to Portuguese Square.

Sambal Spinach

Chicken Curry (Eurasian Style)

Brinjal.

Sambal Sotong!!!

The meal was pricey for budget travellers like us. To get to that place and leave, only taxis available. It was a nice meal nevertheless.

The view of the ocean.

A memorial canon.

More churches to go!

This was at St. Francis Xavier Church.

As legend goes, Mother Mary wasn't originally cased in a glass case. However, there was once, the statue was missing. The next day, they found it at the beach. Days later, Mother mary, went missing again. But then, next morning, it was back at the church, at her spot. But her feet was sandy, as if she had been to the beach.

From then onwards, they kept her in this glass case....

Creepy urban legend...

The sky was about to turn dark, we decided to head back to our area, Jonker Street.

It is slowly turning into the weekend night market.

Bought an Egg lolly before heading back for a quick wash up and rest.

We finished the night market and we bought tickets to watch, X-Men!

In 3D!!! It was a lot cheaper than Singapore ticket prices.

As we were heading for the mall, we saw, A&W!! :O

Had their root beer in a mug and waffles with ice cream :)

Caught the show on time, sadly, I fell asleep in the theatres as I was too tired :P Some may say how can you fall asleep watching X-Men. Seriously, I don't know.

Next day before leaving this land of good food, we went for Pork Satay!!

This is Xiang Ji Pork Satay! It was delicious and cheap! going at 70sen per stick. It was good...

Last station for sightseeing! Baba-Nonya Museum.

No photography allowed :( I still think the nonya musuem at Penang was better though.

Last Malacca meal before heading back to Singapore.

Nonya Cuisine :)

Malacca was fun and I want to travel again soon.
